Important letter regarding school trips.
PLEASE RESPOND IMMEDIATELY
Dear Parents:
During the academic year 2009-2010 there will be a wide variety of trips available to boarders and day scholars alike. An expedition fee has been included in the school fees to permit us to book flights and hotel rooms in advance and in bulk and thereby to save you a great deal of money. We are planning adventure trips for all year groups to selected sites in Karnataka and to the Himalayas, student exchanges to Reunion Island and California, Model United Nations competitions in India and Boston, USA, cultural tours of Tanzania and China, and many other opportunities for educational enrichment. A wide variety of activities will occur during these trips and the trips are always hugely popular and great bonding experiences for the children. All trips are fully supervised by our staff and expert activities directors, and overseen by our travel coordinator Mr Ramesh Bhat, who has organized all trips for TISB since the inception of the school.
No payment is required for the
long and short class trips, since the expedition fee will cover all expenses
and any unused portion of that fee will either be put toward other trips which
your child takes part in during the year (exchanges, Himalayan expeditions,
etc.), or will be rolled over into the pocket money account for the following
year. For Grade XII students any unused portion of the expedition fee
will be refunded at the end of the school year.
The school will assume that parents
of boarders are happy with all arrangements and that their children will attend
all trips unless we receive a response from you to the contrary by 15th
August 2009. Thereafter, non-refundable bookings will be made for all boarding
students. Students will go with their own grade group. Boys and
girls go on trips separately.
The school will not assume that
Day Scholars will attend the trips and therefore parental failure to respond to
this letter will mean that a place will not be booked for your Day Scholar
child to attend the trips.
